EVAN BURFORD

I became a criminal defense attorney because I believe the justice system is not fair. I began my legal career during a period of major social unrest, where I saw the system work differently for those with wealth and power. But I believe that with honest advice, thorough investigation, and detailed negotiation, I can help tip the scales back toward your favor.

During law school, I completed internships with several Public Defender offices. Following graduation, I served as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Debra E. Velure of the Lane County Circuit Court. These early experiences gave me valuable insight that I carry into my practice.

My representation is tailored to your priorities. I will present as many options as possible and empower you to make the best choice for yourself. One of my favorite aspects of criminal defense is the opportunity to be creative, and that defines my approach to plea bargaining, motion practice, and trial strategy.

Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my wife and two sons. I also enjoy playing soccer, cooking for my family and friends, and exploring the outdoors.
